The Washington Redskins announced Wednesday that they’ve signed RB Josh Ferguson to their practice squad.
Hereโs the Redskins updated practice squad:
- DE Ryan Bee
- WR Jehu Chesson (injured)
- T Timon Parris
- RB Craig Reynolds
- WR Darvin Kidsy
- OT Travis Vornkahl
- LB Cassanova McKinzy
- WR Jester Weah
- DB Maurice Smith
- TE Wes Saxton
- RB Josh Ferguson
Ferguson recently tried out for the Redskins, who happen to be dealing with some injuries at the running back position.
Ferguson, 26, wound up signing on with the Colts as an undrafted free agent out of Illinois back in 2016. He managed to make the 53-man roster during his rookie season, but was placed on injured reserve coming out of the preseason and later released with a settlement.
Ferguson later had a brief stint with the Texans before recently signing on to the Patriots’ practice squad. He returned to Houston on a futures contract this past January only to be waived at the start of the regular season.
In 2017, Ferguson appeared in 10 games for the Colts and rushed for five yards on one attempt and no touchdowns. He also had three receptions for 16 yards (5.3 YPC) to go along with 86 kickoff return yards.
