According to Albert Breer of NFL Network, the Bears have met with LB Brian Urlacher‘s representatives at the NFL Scouting Combine.
Not a shocker, but Bears and Brian Urlacher’s agents have met here in Indy to discuss a new deal.

Urlacher talks were termed to me as “preliminary”, but Bears made it clear they’d like to have him back.

Previous reports indicated that the Bears wereย noncommittal towards the idea of re-signing Urlacher, but it seems as though the organization is prepared to keep him in Chicago for at least another season.
Urlacher, 34, was clearly impacted by the injury that he suffered towards the end of the 2011 season. It makes sense that the Bears would appreciate thisย situationย with caution given how much means to the team and the franchise as a whole. Urlacher has gone on record that he would like to retire with the Bears and seems to be willing to offer them a discount to do so. We’ll have to see what the Bears are willing to offer in terms total years in his next deal.
