The San Diego Chargers have promoted Quarterbacks Coach Frank Reich to Offensive Coordinator, according to Ian Rapoport.
Reich takes over for the recently departed Ken Whisenhunt, who accepted the Head Coaching position for the Tennessee Titans on Monday.
Reich, best known for leading the Buffalo Bills to a stunning comeback victory over the Houston Oilers in the 1992 AFC Playoffs, has never served as an Offensive Coordinator, but is largely credited with Philip Rivers‘ bounce-back 2013 season.
