Pro Football Talk, citing a league source, is reporting that the Cowboys are in fact signing rookie free agent TE Asa Watson to a contract.

Nick Eatman of DallasCowboys.com reports that the team is expected to bring in rookie free agent TE Asa Watson.
- Eatman mentions that Dallas would still have to clear a roster spot to sign him to a contract.
Watson, 24, signed with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent out of N.C. State back in May. However, he was among three players released earlier this week as New England signed veterans Ben Hartsock and Steve Maneri to contracts.
During his four years at North Carolina State, Watson recorded 29 receptions for 351 yards receiving and a touchdown.
