Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reports that the Atlanta Falcons have already reached an agreement withย DC Mike Nolan on a contract extension.
Nolan joined Atlanta in 2012 after a stint with the Miami Dolphins as their defensive coordinator. Since taking the Falcons job, the Falcons have ranked No. 24 in 2012 and No. 28 this season in terms of total defense. His defense hasn’t been a top-20 unit in either pass or run defense since taking the job.
Clearly, the Falcons need a lot more help on that side of the ball, as their overall depth has really been exposed in recent years. Hopefully they will be able to rectify this during free agency and the draft.
