Update: Lions Re-Sign C Dominic Raiola To A One-Year Deal

Update:

The Detroit Lions have officially announced that they have re-signed veteran C Dominic Raiola to a one-year deal.

  • Dave Birkett reports that Dominic Raiola’s new contract will pay him $1.5 million for the 2014 season and includes a $250,000 signing bonus.

This comes after Raiola put together, arguably, his best season in the NFL, despite agreeing to a paycut of $1 million.

Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports that the Lions have re-signed veteran C Dominic Raiola to a one-year deal.

Raiola took a pay cut of close $3 million last season, which brought his 2013 salary to $950,000.

Raiola, 35, had said that he was hoping to remain with the Lions this offseason and the fact that he is coming off of a solid 2013 season made this seem like a plausible move. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 2 center in the league this season.

We’ll have more regarding the details of his contract as the news is available.
