- His cap figure wasย $1,833,333 and the Steelers will free upย $1,166,666 by cutting him loose,ย according toย OverTheCap.com.
Brown, 29, came over in a trade with the Arizona Cardinals last year. He still had three years remaining on hisย five-year, $30 million contract and would have madeย $6 million for the 2014 season.
- Brown had aย $6.25 million cap figure and the team will save just as much by releasing him, according to OverTheCap.com.
He wasย placed on season-ending injured reserve last year with a triceps injury.
The total cap saving from these two moves and the release of CB Curtis Brownย is $8.395 million in cash, $6.8 million in net cap space, according to Brian McIntyre.
