Saints Signing CB Patrick Robinson To Four-Year, $20M Deal

Ian Rapoport reports that the Saints are expected to sign Eagles free agent CB Patrick Robinson to a four-year deal.

  • Dan Graziano reports that Robinson receives a four-year, $20 million deal from the Saints with $10 million guaranteed.

The Patriots reportedly showed some interest in Robinson and the Eagles were hoping to bring him back, but it appears as though returning to the Saints was his best option.

In fact, Rapoport says that the Eagles and Robinson got close on a contract extension on Monday before talks stalled.

Robinson, 30, is a former first-round pick of the Saints back in 2010. He spent five years in New Orleans before signing a three-year, $14 million contract with the Colts that included $6 million guaranteed.

The Colts elected to come him loose last March and he eventually signed a one-year contract with the Eagles.

In 2017, Robinson appeared in all 16 games for the Eagles and recorded 47 tackles, one sack, four interceptions and 18 pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 4 cornerback out of 120 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 100  – 2018 NFL Free Agents list.
