Nichols, 25, wound up signing on with the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent out of South Florida back in 2018. He agreed to a three-year, $1.71 million contract and managed to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason, but was later waived in October.
Nichols was on and off of the Cardinals’ roster before agreeing to a deal with the Houston Roughnecks for the 2020 season.
During his one season with the Roughriders, Nichols recorded 24 tackles, one sack and three interceptions.
