Adam Schefter reports that Drew Brees will be the Saintsโ starting QB Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs.
According to Schefter, the Saints believe Brees is fully healthy and doctors have cleared him to play.
Saints HC Sean Payton had said that they wanted to make sure Brees was ready to return before having him take over as the starter.
Taysom Hill did a decent job of filling in for Brees, but they’re coming off of a disappointing loss to the Eagles last week.
Brees, 41, is a former second-round pick of the Chargers back in 2001. After five years with the Chargers, Brees signed on with the Saints as a free agent in 2006.
Brees has spent the past 12 seasons in New Orleans. He agreed to a new two-year, $50 million contract with the Saints this past March.
In 2020, Brees has appeared in nine games for the Saints and completed 73.5 percent of his passes for 2,196 yards, 18 touchdowns and three interceptions.
