Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Seahawks brought in free agent RB C.J. Anderson for a tryout on Monday.
According to Aaron Wilson, the Seahawks also tried out:
- RB Marshawn Lynch
- RB Robert Turbin
- DT Mike Hughes
- DT Tomasi Laulile
- DT Chris Nelson
- DT Shakir Soto
- DT Andrew Williams
The Seahawks also tried out Marshawn Lynch and hosted Robert Turbin for a visit.
The expectation is that Seattle will sign Lynch and likely add another running back following the season-ending injuries to C.J. Prosise and Chris Carson.
Since becoming a free agent, Anderson has worked out for the Raiders, Texans and Giants.
Anderson, 28, wound up signing on with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of Cal back in 2013. He signed a four-year, $18 million contract that included $10 million guaranteed with the Dolphins as a restricted free agent during the 2016 offseason but the Broncos matched the deal.
The Broncos elected to release Anderson last offseason and he eventually agreed to a one-year contract with the Panthers. After a brief stint with the Raiders, Anderson signed on with the Rams in December.
From there, Anderson agreed to a one-year deal with the Lions this past April but was released a few months ago.
In 2018, Anderson appeared in 11 games and rushed for 403 yards on 67 carries (6 YPC) to go along with five receptions for 41 yards receiving and three touchdowns.
