Mark Berman is reporting that the Seahawks, Cardinals and Broncos have contacted the Houston Roughnecks and inquired about QB P.J. Walker.
After suspending their season, the XFL announced that they will allow players to immediately sign with NFL teams. However, this is the first reported interest in an XFL player from NFL teams.
Walker, 25, wound up signing on with the Colts as an undrafted free agent out of Temple back in May of 2017. He was waived coming out of the preseason but later added to the team’s practice squad.
Indianapolis brought Walker back on a futures contract the next two years but once again released him at the start of the regular season. He was on and off of their practice squad the past two years before eventually signing a contract with the XFL.
During his one season with the Roughnecks, Walker threw for 1,338 yards, 15 touchdowns and four interceptions.
At Temple, Walker threw for 10,668 yards while completing 56.9 percent of his passes to go along with 74 touchdowns and 44 interceptions over the course of four seasons and 49 games. He also rushed for 771 yards and nine touchdowns.
