According to Field Yates of ESPN, the Seahawks worked out veteran LB Mike Morgan on Wednesday, per Brady Henderson.
Seattle elected to promote LB Paul Dawsonย from their practice squad instead of signing Morgan to a contract.
Morgan, 29, signed on with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of USC back in 2011. He signed a one-year, $1 million contract which included a $200,000 signing bonus.
The Seahawks placed Morgan on injured reserve before designating him as their player to return.
Morgan worked out for the Jaguars and Saints during the offseason, but wound up re-signing with Seattle. He was among their final roster cuts coming out of the preseason.
In 2016, Morgan appeared in nine games and recorded 12 total tackles, one interception, and one pass defense for the Seahawks.
