Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports that there are several teams doing “serious homework” on Utah State QB Jordan Love in the weeks leading up to the NFL Draft.
According to Fowler, the list of teams doing varying levels of homework on Love include the Dolphins, Saints, Patriots, Chargers, Packers and Redskins among “many others.”
Texas Tech coach Matt Wells, who originally recruited Love to Utah State, tells Fowler that he’s discussed the young quarterback with seven different NFL head coaches in the last five days.
Love is a bit of a polarizing prospect, as some view him as the best “pure thrower” in the draft while others see him more as a Day 2 pick, according to Fowler.
Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller recently reported that Love has connected with a number of teams via video conference including the Chargers, Colts, Dolphins, Packers, Raiders and Saints.
Miami actually made it a priority to bring Love in for a visit to its facility before it had to be closed down at the beginning of the month.
Love figures to be an interesting prospect to track throughout the draft process, as some felt he could remain in college and possibly transfer to another school to improve his draft stock.
He is still considered one of the top quarterbacks available in the 2020 NFL Draft and could be an early first-round pick.
During his three-year college career at Utah State, Love threw for 8,600 yards while completing 61.2 percent of his passes to go along with 60 touchdowns and 29 interceptions over the course of 38 games. He also rushed for 403 yards and nine touchdowns.
