The Pittsburgh Steelers announced that LB Lawrence Timmons has been taken to a local hospital for further evaluation on his shin and will not return to Sunday’s game.
Timmons, 30, is a former first-round pick of the Steelers back in 2007. He’s in the final year of hisย six-year, $50 million contractย thatย included an $11 million signing bonus and stands to make a base salary of $8.75 million in 2016 before testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent next March.
Entering today’s game, Timmons has recorded 15 tackles and a pass defense for the Steelers.
