Steelers Have Been “Quietly Listening To Offers” For WR Martavis Bryant

According to Dan Graziano of ESPN, the Steelers have been “quietly listening to offers” for WR Martavis Bryant over the past few months.

Graziano says that part of the hold up regarding a potential trade involving Bryant is that some of the receiver-needy teams such as the Ravens and Patriots happen to be rivals of the Steelers and Pittsburgh wouldn’t want to send them a talented player, even for draft compensation.

Graziano adds that with the Steelers in win-now mode, it would take a good offer for them to trade Bryant.

It’s worth mentioning that Steelers GM Kevin Colbert said during the Combine that they are not interested in trading Bryant and have not called anyone about a potential deal, per Dale Lolley.

According to Colbert, they received some calls from interested teams, but they have told them that they aren’t interested in trading Bryant.

Before that, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported that while the Steelers aren’t actively shopping Bryant, they’re at least listening to trade offers for him.

Bryant, 26, was selected by the Steelers in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL draft. He’s entering the final year of his four-year, $2.7 million rookie contract and stands to make a base salary of $705,000 for the 2018 season.

Bryant was suspended for the entire 2016 season for violating the NFL’s substance-abuse policy and returned to the team coming out of the preseason last year.

In 2017, Bryant appeared in 15 games for the Steelers and caught 50 passes for 603 yards receiving and three touchdowns. He also rushed for 22 yards and totaled 151 kick return yards. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 47 receiver out of 116 qualifying players.
