Steelers Sign CB JaCorey Shepherd, Waive DE Nelson Adams

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced Saturday that they’ve signed CB JaCorey Shepherd to a contract and placed DE Nelson Adams on waivers.

Shepherd, 24, was taken in the sixth-round of the 2015 NFL draft by the Eagles. He signed a four-year, $2,401,112 contract with Philadelphia and was set to make a base salary of $525,000 when he was cut loose coming out of the preseason.

Shepherd, unfortunately, sustained a torn right ACL and subsequently missed the entire 2015 season. He was one and off of the Eagles’ practice squad last year before signing a two-year contract with the 49ers. had signed and cut Shepherd multiple times in recent weeks.

San Francisco elected to cut him loose a few days after this year’s NFL Draft.

In 2016, Shepherd appeared in 10 games and recorded two tackles. He also contributed 456 kick return yards last year.
