Steelers Waive/Injured CB Greg Ducre, Sign WR Justin Thomas

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced Wednesday that they’ve signed WR Justin Thomas to a contract and waived CB Greg Ducre with an injury designation.

Should Ducre pass through waivers unclaimed, he would revert to the team’s injured reserve list on Thursday.

Ducre, 25, originally signed on with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent out of back in 2014. He lasted just a few months in San Diego before he was waived at the start of the season and later added to their practice squad.

The Redskins signed him to their active roster soon after but he would eventually return to the Chargers’ practice squad later in the season. The Chargers once again cut Ducre loose at the start of the 2016 season and he, unfortunately, sat out the entire year.

Ducre signed a future/reserve contract with the Steelers this past January.

In 2015, Ducre appeared in four games for the Chargers and recorded eight tackles.
