Stevan Ridley Appears To have Won Starting Job With Patriots

Greg Bedard of the Boston Globe writes that Stevan Ridley is expected to be named the Patriots starting running back.

Going into preseason, many expected to see Ridley and Shane Vereen compete for the starting job, but after three games, Ridley has edged out Vereen after he gained 152 yards on 34 carries, compared to Vereen 81 yards in 23 carries.

To make matters worse, Vereen left last night’s game with an injury, which could end up giving rookie Jeff Demps a shot at some playing time.
