Mark Berman of FOX 26 is reporting that the Texans have traded TEĀ Khari Lee to the Bears for 2017 sixth-round pick.

  • Aaron Wilson reports that the Bears areĀ excited about LeeĀ and plan to use him as anĀ in-line blocker, andĀ red-zone target.
  • Wilson anticipates that Lee will have a solid opportunity with the Bears, but would have been cut had he remained with the Texans.

By making this move, the Texans officially got down to 75 players last night.

The fact that the Bears traded for a tight end who could end up being used as an in-line tight end isn’t a good sign for veteran TE Bear Pascoe and his future with the team.

Lee, 23, signed on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of Bowie State a few days after this year’s NFL Draft.

During his senior season at Bowie State, Lee caught 15 passes for 389 yards receiving and a touchdown. He also ran for 43 yards on six carries.

In three preseason games for the Texans, Lee has caught five passes for 71 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
