The Minnesota Vikings announced that they’ve also released veteran DT Linval Joseph on Friday.
Joseph, 31, is a former second-round pick of the Giants back in 2010. He spent four seasons in New York before departing in 2014 for a five-year, $31.5 million contract with the Vikings.
Joseph had two years remaining on his deal when he agreed to a four-year, $50 million extension that included $31.5 million guaranteed with the Vikings back in 2017.
According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Joseph will free up $10,487,500 of available cap space while creating $2.4 million in dead money.
In 2019, Joseph appeared in 13 games for the Vikings and recorded 44 tackles, three sacks and a forced fumble.
