Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports that the Vikings and RB Dalvin Cook have had “productive” extension talks this offseason. Although, Fowler says nothing is close at this time.
Last we heard regarding Cook and the Vikings, Chris Tomasson reported that the two sides had some talks about a new deal and discussions were expect to ramp up after the Vikings got through free agency.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Media mentioned that Cook’s next contract could end up being the biggest Vikings deal since Adrian Peterson signed a $100 million contract several years ago.
Cook, 24, is a former second-round pick of the Vikings back in 2017. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $6.35 million contract and set to make a base salary of $1.13 million for the 2020 season.
In 2019, Cook has appeared in 14 games for the Vikings and rushed for 1,135 yards on 250 carries (4.5 YPC) with 13 touchdowns to go along with 53 receptions for 519 yards receiving.
Weโll have more regarding Cook and the Vikings as the news is available.
