The Minnesota Vikings announced Friday that they’ve placed CB Mackensie Alexander on injured reserve and promoted DB Nate Meadors to their active roster.
Alexander underwent arthroscopic surgery for the small tear in his lateral meniscus on Thursday.
Alexander, 26, is a former second-round pick of the Vikings back in 2016. He’s currently in the final year of his four-year, $4.316 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $1.03 million for the 2019 season.
Alexander will be an unrestricted free agent in the coming months.
In 2019, Alexander appeared in 13 games for the Vikings and recorded 38 tackles, a half sack, an interception, a fumble recovery and five pass defenses.
