Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Vikings RT Phil Loadholt sustained a torn Achilles during Saturday night’s preseason game.

  • Former NFL physician David Chao mentions that Loadholt’s injury will likely require surgery and end his 2015 season.

Fourth-round pick T.J. Clemming replaced Loadholt with the first-team offense, so it appears as though he will takeover as the team’s starter moving forward.

Loadholt, 29, is entering the third year of his four-year, $25 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $4.4 million for the 2015 season.

He unfortunately placed on season-ending injured reserve with a torn pectoral in November of last year.

In 2014, Loadholt appeared in 11 games for the Vikings and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 34 offensive tackle out of 84 qualifying players.
