Adrian Peterson (ACL, MCL, meniscus surgery) mentioned that he’s hoping to return in time for the team’s season opener.
“Right now my goal is to be back by the first, the regular-season opener,” Peterson said onย The Dan Patrick Show, via NFL.com. “That’s my goal.”
Peterson has already mentioned that he” be able to resume running by the end of the month which is staggering when you consider that he’s coming off of tears to both his ACL and MCL. Still, it would be even more surprising to see him recover in time for the start of the 2012 season but this guy is not normal so I guess you can’t completely rule it out.
Jeremy Fowlerย of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports the Minnesota Vikings have no plans to use the franchise tag in the coming weeks which means that MLB E.J. Henderson could be allowed to test the free agent market.
Other than Henderson, the team really doesn’t have any serious free agents to be concerned about.ย Visanthe Shiancoe‘s contract is also up but his play declined to the point where it’s probably better for them to move on and get more use out of Kyle Rudolph.
