The Washington Football Team announced Tuesday that they’ve placed DT Matt Ioannidis on injured reserve and signed DE Nate Orchard to their roster.
Ioannidis, unfortunately, suffered a torn bicep in Sunday’s loss to the Browns.
Ioannidis, 26, is a former fifth-round pick by Washington out of Temple back in 2016. He was entering the final year of his four-year, $2,340,000 contract and set to make a base salary of $720,000 for the 2019 season when he signed a three-yer, $21.75 million extension last offseason.
Ioannidis is set to make base salaries of $5.35 million and $6.6 million the next two seasons.
In 2020, Ioannidis appeared in three games for Washington and recorded seven total tackles, including two for a loss, and 1.5 sacks. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 41 interior defender out of 119 qualifying players.
