Wisconsin LB Zack Baun Informs Teams He Tested Positive For Diluted Sample At Combine

According to Adam Schefter, Wisconsin LB Zack Baun has informed all 32 teams he tested positive for a diluted sample at the NFL Scouting Combine in February.

Baun claimed he drank too much water for weight-related purposes as the reason behind his test result.

Ordinarily, this would have counted as a strike against Baun under the NFL’s performance-enhancing drug policy, per Schefter. However, that changed under the new CBA, meaning teams don’t expect this to impact his draft stock that much.

Baun, 23, is considered to be one of the top linebacker prospects in this year’s draft class by draft experts and in the discussion to be a first-round pick.

Dane Brugler has Baun rated as his No. 36 overall player.

During his college career at Wisconsin, Baun recorded 152 tackles, 15 sacks, two interceptions, a defensive touchdown, three forced fumbles, a recovery and four passes defended over the course of three seasons and 34 games played.
