Chris Mortensen of ESPN reports that the Eagles expect Miles Sanders to miss Thursday night’s game with a knee injury and TE Zach Ertz to be ut for three-to-four weeks with an ankle injury.
Adam Schefter adds that Sanders’ knee injury will likely cost him one-to-two weeks.
Beyond these injuries, Mortensen says the Eagles are looking at being without DL Malik Jackson and OT Jack Driscoll for two weeks.
Indications were that both players were likely to miss Week 7’s game, so this shouldn’t come as a big surprise.
With Sanders out, Philadelphia will turn to Boston Scott and Corey Clement to handle the ground game.
Ertz, 29, is a former second-round pick of the Eagles back in 2013. He’s in the fifth year of his six-year, $43.64 million contract that included $20 million guaranteed.
Ertz stands to make base salaries of $7.25 million (2020), and $7.75 million (2021) over the remainder of his deal.
In 2020, Ertz has appeared in six games for the Eagles and caught 24 passes for 178 yards receiving and one touchdown.
Sanders, 23, is a former second-round pick by the Eagles in the 2019 NFL Draft out of Penn State. He’s entering the second year of his four-year, $5.35 million rookie contract.
In 2020, Sanders has appeared in five games for the Eagles and rushed for 434 yards on 71 carries (6.1 YPC) to go along with 12 receptions for 91 yards receiving and three touchdowns.
