Rand Getlin of NFL Media reports that Seahawks G J.R. Sweezy already has ten teams expressing interest in him at the start of the legal tampering period.
- According to Getlin, the teams who’ve shown interest in Sweezy include: the Buccaneers, Falcons, Lions, Dolphins, Saints, 49ers, Jaguars, Bears, and Jets among others.
Last we heard, Getlin reported that Sweezy was expected to have an “active market” so this is in line what some expected for the young interior lineman.
It seems likely that the Seahawks will wait to see what kind of offers he gets in the coming days before deciding whether to bring him back.
Sweezy, 26, was taken in the seventh-round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He’s played out his rookie contract and is now in position to be an unrestricted free agent in the coming weeks.
In 2015, Sweezy appeared in 15 games for the Seahawks and was rated by Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 69 guard out of 82 qualifying players.
