Jerry Jones: Tony Romo Out For Year With Hairline Fracture To Clavicle

Update:

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said during an interview with 105.3 The Fan that QB Tony Romo has a hairline fracture to his clavicle that will won’t require surgery, per Gavin Dawson.

However, Jones adds that Romo is still out for the remainder of the 2015 season.

Ian Rapoport mentions that Romo is looking at looking at the standard timeframe for a clavicle fracture of 8 weeks, but he should be fine for the offseason program.

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports that Cowboys QB Tony Romo “most likely” has a small fracture in his collarbone.

Romo told reporters after the game that the injury felt very similar to the one he sustained earlier in the year. He has a CT scan scheduled for tomorrow to determine the severity of the injury.

Cowboys QB Tony Romo left Thursday’s game against the Panthers with a left clavicle injury.

Romo is undergoing X-rays on his clavicle, but this obviously a big concern, given Romo missed seven games this season with a similar injury.

Even with the possibility that Romo could re-injure his clavicle, he said he was willing to take that risk to help the team make a run at the division title.

Romo took a hit from Panthers LB Thomas Davis and almost immediately reached for his left shoulder.

Before leaving the game, Romo was 11-of-21 passing for 106 yards and three interceptions with two of them being returned for a touchdown.

Romo, 35, is in the third year of his seven-year, $119.5 million contract that included $55 million guaranteed.

Entering today’s game, Romo had throw for 778  yards while completing 75 percent of his passes to go along with five touchdowns and four interceptions over the course of three games.

We’ll have more regarding Romo’s injury as the news is available.
