Eagles Could Have Interest In Chiefs Backup QB Chase Daniel

According to Ian Rapoport, a name to watch for the Eagles this offseason is Chiefs backup QB Chase Daniel.

Some have mentioned Daniel in connection to the Eagles, given that Sam Bradford will also be a free agent in the coming weeks and Rapoport notes that new HC Doug Pederson does view him as more than just a backup.

Daniel is an intriguing player, as some team could be willing to give him an opportunity to compete for a starting job in training camp, even though he’s been a backup for most of his career.

Daniel, 29, wound up signing on with the Redskins as an undrafted free agent out of Missouri back in 2009. He later caught on with the Saints when they added him to their practice squad a few weeks into his rookie season. After four years in New Orleans, the Chiefs signed him to a three-year contract.

Over the course of his career, Daniel has thrown for 464 yards while completing 64.9 percent of his passes to go along with one touchdown and one interception.
