49ers Claim OT Sean Hooey Off Waivers From Jets

The San Francisco 49ers announced that they’ve claimed OT Sean Hooey off of waivers from the Jets on Friday.

Hooey, 24, originally signed on with the Rams as an undrafted free agent out of Cincinnati back in 2013.

However, he lasted just a few months with the team before he was waived at the start of the 2013 season and later added to St. Louis’ practice squad.

He spent the entire 2013 and 2014 season on the Rams’ taxi squad before signing a future/reserve contract with the Jets back in January.

The Jets wound up waiving him on Thursday and signing former Saints OT Charles Brown.

Hooey has yet to appear in an NFL game.
