Packers HC Mike McCarthy announced that Aaron Rodgers has been cleared and will start against the Bears in Week 17.
“Any football player that plays Sunday will have risk,” McCarthy said. “We’ve done our due diligence. We feel it’s time for Aaron to play”
“I would say he’s ready to play,” added McCarthy. “He’s throwing it very well. … Getting ready for this moment.”
Paul Imig of FOX Sports WI reports that a source has informed him that Aaron Roders will start against the Bears on Sunday.
Multiple national reporters have mentioned that there is more optimism this week regarding Rodgers’ status than in almost two months since he suffered a fractured collarbone.
HC Mike McCarthy is expected to announce whether Rodgers will play against the Bears this weekend in a winner-take-all game.
