Bills Sign LB Stevenson Sylvester, Released TE Mike Caussin

The Buffalo Bills announced the signing of former Steelers LB Stevenson Sylvester to a contract on Wednesday.

  • The Bills subsequently released TE Mike Caussin to make room for Sylvester.
  • Buffalo also placed on CB Leodis McKelvin and LB Randell Johnson on physically unable to perform list.
  • Meanwhile, DT Alan Branch and OT Cordy Glenn were placed on non-football illness list.
  • LB Kiko Alonso was also placed on non-football injury list.

Sylvester, 25, was a fifth-round pick of the Steelers back in 2010 and spent four years with the team. He worked out for the Patriots back in May, but never received an offer from the team.

Last year, Sylvester was limited to appearing in nine games and totaled just 12 tackles.

The addition of Sylvester gives the Bills some depth as they prepare for the start of training camp in a few days.
