Cardinals CB Patrick Peterson Requests Trade

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Cardinals CB Patrick Peterson has requested that the team trade him before the upcoming deadline.

  • According to Schefter, Peterson feels as if the situation in Arizona has deteriorated and he has reaffirmed to others that he “desperately” wants out.
  • Schefter adds that the Cardinals continue to insist theyโ€™re not trading him while Peterson continues to request a trade.

Rumors surfaced that Peterson was someone to keep an eye as a potential trade candidate.

However,ย Cardinals owner Michael Bidwell toldย Ian Rapoport of NFL.com last that trading Peterson is โ€œnot happening.โ€

For what it’s worth, reports from this past weekend said that the Saints and Eagles were both in the market for cornerbackย help.

Peterson, 28, is a former first-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2011. He’s currently in the fifth year of his seven-year, $83.02 million that included $48 million guaranteed and set to make base salaries of $11 million over the next two years of the agreement.

In 2018, Peterson has appeared in six games for the Cardinals and recorded 29 tackles, one sack, an interception, a fumble recovery and two pass defenses.
