Cardinals
Cardinals WR Marvin Harrison Jr. goes into year three of his career after failing to improve his numbers in receptions, yards and touchdowns from his rookie campaign. Arizona HC Mike LaFleur wants Harrison to embrace adversity and win his individual contests.
“Not just Marvin, but what you talk to all these guys about in this league is that every play is probably going to be the hardest play you’ve ever had,” he said via Charles Robinson of NFL Blue Book. “It is hard to win in this league. And it’s hard to win 1-on-1 matchups in this league. Left tackle versus an edge guy, from receiver to the corner. Just instilling that mindset in all these guys that, dude, it’s going to be hard. It’s going to be contested. Are we going to make the play? Someone is going to make the play. It’s either you or that guy [across from you].”
Rams
Rams CB Trent McDuffie admitted he was caught off guard with the trade from Kansas City to Los Angeles.
“Honestly, I was full bore, I thought I was going to be a Chief at the end of last year,” McDuffie said, via Rams Wire. “Right around that [NFL] Combine time, kind of heard that that wasn’t going to be a thing. “It was kind of like — went to bed one day not knowing, then woke up the next day as a Ram. So it really was a 360 turnaround in like four days.”
Seahawks
Seahawks RB Emanuel Wilson signed a one-year deal with Seattle this offseason following his three years with the Packers. Wilson doesn’t think he gets enough credit for his speed.
“I’m bringing something different,” Wilson said, via Brady Henderson of ESPN. “A lot of people think I don’t got speed, but I’ve got a lot of speed on my end, and really just bringing a lot of power.”
Earlier in training camp, HC Mike Macdonald said Wilson has been impressive in practice and has been “exciting” to watch.
“I’m going to sound really cliché right now, but he just keeps stacking days, from where he started to where he is now,” coach Mike Macdonald said. “It seems like he keeps making plays, he keeps being productive in his style of ball, which is really cool. What he brings to the table is exciting. There’s a physicality, a heaviness to his game, which is fun to have on offense.”
As of last week, Macdonald mentioned Wilson is dealing with an undisclosed injury, but “should be back at some point.”
