Liz Farmer of the Dallas Morning News reports that Talib was actually one of two victims injured after a fight broke out overnight at a Dallas nightclub.
According to Farmer, a patron pulled out a gun and shot one person inside the club, but the fight continued outside and another person wound up being shot.
Both victims were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police are currently looking for the others involved in the incident.
According to Lopez, Talib was shot after a fight broke out at a club in Dallas Sunday morning. Talib has reportedly been transported to Medical City hospital, but details are limited right now.
This is clearly a concerning situation for one of the Broncos’ cornerstone defensive players. We’re hoping that Talib’s injuries are non-life-threatening and he’ll be released from the hospital at some point in the near future.
Talib, 30, is in the third year of his six-year, $57 million contract that includes $26 million guaranteed. He stands to make a base salary of $8.5 million for the 2016 season.
In 2015, Talib appeared 15 games for the Broncos and recorded 45 tackles, three interceptions with two of them bring returned for touchdowns, and 14 pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 28 cornerback out of 111 qualifying players.
We’ll have updates regarding Talib and his condition as the news is available.
