Broncos Expected To Exercise CB Bradley Roby’s Fifth-Year Option

Mike Klis of 9News is reporting that the Broncos are expected to pick CB Bradley Roby‘s fifth-year option.

Klis adds that the Broncos’ thinking with this move is that Roby is a good player and GM John Elway wants to keep his good players with the team.

The fifth-year option will run the Broncos around $8.526 million for the 2018 season, but is guaranteed only for injury and won’t prevent them from working on a long-term extension over the next year.

Roby, 24, is a former first-round pick of the Broncos back in 2014. He’s currently in the final year of his four-year, $6.95 million rookie contract and stands to make a base salary of $1,018,072 for the 2017 season.

In 2016, Roby appeared in all 16 games for the Broncos and recorded 39 tackles, one sack, two interceptions both returned for touchdowns, a forced fumble and eight pass defenses.
