Broncos Meet With DE DeMarcus Ware, Express Interest In Re-Signing Him

Jane Slater of NFL Network is reporting that free agent DE DeMarcus Ware met with Broncos VP John Elway and HC Vance Joseph on Tuesday and Denver expressed interest in re-signing him.

Last we heard regarding Ware, Clarence Hill Jr of the Star-Telegram reported that he was considering a return to the Cowboys. According to Hill Jr, there’s still a chance that Ware could re-sign with the Broncos, but the possibility exists that he could return to Dallas after spending three years in Denver.

Sources tell Hills that Ware is healthy, despite undergoing back surgery and he believes he’s ready to “finish his career with a flourish.”

Ware, 34, is a former first-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2005. He spent nine years in Dallas before signing on with the Broncos in 2014.

During the offseason, Ware agreed to a restructured contract with the Broncos included a $ million base salary for the 2016 season to go along with a $2 million signing bonus and another $3.5 million that was available in incentives.

The Broncos placed Ware on season-ending injured reserve with a back injury towards the end of the season.

In 2016, Ware appeared in 10 games and recorded 15 tackles, four sacks and a pass defense for the Broncos.

We have him featured in our Top 100 – 2017 Free Agents list.
