Broncos Place OLB Deiontrez Mount On IR After Clearing Waivers

The Denver Broncos officially placed OLB Deiontrez Mount on injured reserve Tuesday after passing through waivers unclaimed.

Mount suffered a season-ending Achilles tear in recent weeks.

Mount, 25, is a former sixth-round pick by the Titans of the 2015 NFL draft. He was in the final year of his four-year, $2.428 million rookie contract and set to make a base salary of $525,000 when the Titans cut him loose coming out of the preseason in 2016.

Mount had a brief stint with the Colts before he was signed to the Broncos’ practice squad last year and eventually promoted to their active roster. Denver waived him with an injury designation Tuesday.

In 2017, Mount appeared in seven games and recorded seven tackles and no sacks.
