Chiefs Signing Veteran CB Orlando Scandrick

Field Yates reports that the Chiefs are signing CB Orlando Scandrick to a contract on Sunday.

  • According to Tom Pelissero, Scandrick is signing a one-year, $1.5 million deal with Kansas City.

After the Redskins cut Scandrick loose, the Chiefs immediately set up a visit and it looks like they were able to get him under contract soon after.

Scandrick, 31, is a former fifth-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2008. He was in the fourth year of his five-year, $20 million contract and set to make base salaries of $3 million and $4 million over the final two years of the agreement when the Cowboys designated him as a post-June 1 release.

The Redskins signed Scandrick to a two-year contract that included $1 million guaranteed this offseason only to release him on Tuesday.

In 2017, Scandrick recorded 38 tackles, no interceptions and three pass defenses for the Cowboys over the course of 11 games before he was placed on injured reserve. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 113 overall cornerback out of 121 qualifiers.

We had him featured in our Top 50 Available 2018 NFL Free Agents list.
