Chiefs Starting Nick Foles In Week 9

Chiefs HC Andy Reid told reporters on Wednesday that they’re starting Nick Foles at quarterback in Week 9, per Adam Teicher.

According to Reid, Alex Smith won’t play at all this week, even if Foles gets hurt, which means Tyler Bray will be their backup quarterback.

The Chiefs still don’t believe Smith suffered a concussion during Sunday’s game and said he remains in return to play protocol.

Foles, 27, is a former third-round pick of the Eagles back in 2012. He signed a two-year, $12.5 million contract with the Chiefs after he was cut loose by the Rams several months ago.

This season, Foles has appeared in one game and throw for 223 yards while completing 72.7 percent of his passes to go along with two touchdowns and no interceptions.
