The Dallas Cowboys have placed TE Rico Gathers on injured reserve Monday, according to Rob Phillips.
Gathers looked good during the preseason, but has been in the concussion protocol in recent weeks.
Gathers, 23, is a former sixth-round pick of the Cowboys back in May of last year. He was, unfortunately, cut loose coming out of the preseason last year and later signed to the team’s practice squad at the start of the regular season.
Dallas brought Gathers back on a future/reserve contract this past January.
During his college career, Gathers played basketball for Baylor and was First Team All-Big 12 selection before converting to tight end and pursuing an NFL career.
