Cowboys Sign LB Keith Smith To Active Roster, Cut DT Ken Bishop

The Dallas Cowboys have signed LB Keith Smith to their active roster and placed DT Ken Bishop on waivers to make room for Smith, according to Todd Archer.

Smith, 22, signed with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of San Jose State this past May, but was waived at the end of August as the team cut their roster down to 53 players.

Dallas has since promoted and waived Smith to their active roster on multiple occasions, so it’s unlikely that he’ll remain on the active roster more than a few days. Smith played just two defensive snaps.

Bishop, 23, was a seventh-round pick by the Cowboys back in May. He earned time at noseguard while at Northern Illinois and was elected to first team All-MAC honors as a senior.

In 2013, Bishop was able to accumulate 70 tackles, seven tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and two interceptions.
