Nick Eatman is reporting on Twitter that Dallas Cowboys LB Anthony Spencer has signed his franchise tag tender worth $8.8 million.
The Cowboys placed the tag on Spencer, drafted out of Purdue in the first round in 2007, back on March 5th. In his five seasons in the NFL, Spencer has recorded 266 tackles, 1o forced fumbles, 10 pass break-ups and 21.5 sacks.
There’s still a chance that the Cowboys could consider taking an outside linebacker at some point in the draft, considering that Spencer could end up playing elsewhere next season, but that most likely wouldn’t happen until the later rounds.
