Eagles Rework G Stefen Wisniewski’s Contract, Give Him $250K Incentive He Would’ve Lost

Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports thatĀ Eagles G Stefen Wisniewski narrowly missed reaching a $250,000 playing time incentive included in his contract this year.

However, the Eagles decided to restructure his contract this week and include a $250,000 signing bonus for the 2018 season.

This is, obviously, a great gestureĀ on the part of the Eagles and depending on the specifics of the new deal, it’s likely they freed up some much-needed cap space in the process.

Wisniewski, 28, is a former second-round pick of the Raiders back in 2011. He spent four years in Oakland before signing on with the Eagles in 2016.

Wisniewski is entering the second year of his three-year, $9 million contract and stands to make base salaries of $2.5 million and $3 million over the final two years of the agreement.

In 2017, Wisniewski appeared in 14 games for the EaglesĀ and is rated byĀ Pro Football FocusĀ as the No. 26 guard out of 77 qualifying players.
