Eagles Sign First-Round DE Derek Barnett, Wrap Up Draft Class

The Philadelphia Eagles announced Thursday that they’ve signed first-round DE Derek Barnett to a four-year rookie contract.

According to OverTheCap.com, Barnett will receive a four-year contract worth $12,600,108, which includes a signing bonus of $7,303,716. The contract also has a fifth-year option for the team to consider in 2020.

Barnett, 20, was selected with the No. 14 overall pick by the Eagles, who acquired the pick from the Vikings last year when trading QB Sam Bradford to Minnesota.

He is widely considered to be one of the best pass-rushers in this year’s draft class.
