Former Bills S Aaron Williams Retiring From NFL

On Wednesday, former Bills S Aaron Williams announced via the Players Tribune that he’s retiring from the NFL.

Williams suffered a serious neck injury, but there were reports he was healthy enough to play. Last year, he worked out for the Chiefs, Falcons and Jaguars but wasn’t signed to a contract and wound up sitting out the 2017 season.

Williams, 27, is a former second-round pick of the Bills back in 2011. He was entering the fourth year of his five-year, $26,077,844 million contract and set to make a base salary of $3.6 million for the 2017 season when the Bills released him last year.

For his career, Williams recorded 183 tackles, seven interceptions, three forced fumbles, a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown, and 36 pass defenses over the course of 59 games.
