Giants Also Place OL Geoff Schwartz & LB Terrell Manning On I.R.

Dan Graziano of ESPN is reporting that the Giants have also placed veteran OL Geoff Schwartz and LB Terrell Manning on season-ending injured reserve.

This comes not long after news broke that DE Robert Ayers, DE Mathias Kiwanuka and OL Adam Snyder were being placed on the injured reserve list Tuesday.

There was some optimism that Schwartz’s recent ankle injury wasn’t going to cost the remainder of the season, but it appears as though the Giants would prefer him to get 100 percent healthy for next year.

Schwartz, 28, signed four-year, $16.8 million contract that included $6.2 million guaranteed with the Giants back in March.

New York signed Manning off of the Cincinnati Bengals’ practice squad close to a week ago, so his time with the team was short lived in 2014.

Manning, 24, is a former fifth-round pick of the Green Bay Packers back in 2012. However, he lasted just one year with the team before he was placed on waivers.

Since then, Manning has played for the Chargers, Vikings, Giants, Dolphins, Bears and Bengals, which is not exactly a good thing given how long he’s been in the NFL.

This season, Manning has appeared in three games and has recorded a single tackle.
