Giants Place RB Peyton Hillis On Season-Ending I.R.

The New York Giants announced Saturday that they are placing RB Peyton Hillis on season-ending injured reserve.

Hillis, 28, suffered a concussion during last weekend’s loss to the Seahawks. He tried to practice on Wednesday, but was later sent home from the team’s facilities.

He signed a two-year, $1.8 million contract with the Giants back in March, so he still has another year remaining on this agreement for a base salary of $870,000.

Hillis’ 2014 season ends with him running for 115 yards on 26 carries (4.4 YPC) and contributing another 10 receptions for 87 yards receiving over the course of nine games.
